Ceiba Tops
Ceiba Tops is Explorama's newest lodge located 25 miles down river from Iquitos at the exact same location as the Inn so all rain forest
activities that are associated with the Inn -- birding hikes, boat trips to neighboring villages, morning boat ride is search of pink dolphins, fishing for piranhas, etc -- are done at Ceiba Tops as well.
Individual palm-thached cottages, each with private porch over-looking the Amazon with large windows to capture the magnificant scenery. All rooms have air conditioning, writing desk, private bathrooms with hot water and full electricity throughout.
Enjoy the one-of-a-kind swimming pool with hydro-massage which is great for relaxing after a busy day in the rain forest.
Explorama Lodge
The Lodge, established in 1964 80 km (50mi) down the Amazon, is deep in primary rainforest and offers two-day or longer excursions. Romantic kerosene torches and lamps illuminate palm thatched houses with 10 to 17 sleeping rooms. Covered connecting walkways lead to
the Tahuampa Bar, The Dining Room, The Sun Porch and two Hammock Houses. Showers & latrine style facilities adjoin each house. A variety of treks are offered, including the Seven Bridges Trail.
ExplorNapo Reserve
Located 100 miles from Iquitos, a boat trip down the Amazon and up the Napo River, ExplorNapo is surrounded by the largest of Explorama's private rainforest reserves. After a complete renovation in 1996, the camp now offers accommodations, comfortable showers and bathroom facilities, a hammock house and screened dining area identical to those found at the Lodge, but still maintains an intimate atmosphere with only 20 rooms. The ReNuPeRu Ethnobotanical Garden, a teaching garden for medicinal and useful plants of the rainforest, is located next to ExplorNapo and a visit is included with all programs for guests staying here. Easy access to the rainforest canopy is made available by the suspended ACEER Canopy Walkway just a 40-minute-walk away. Transfer time from Explorama Lodge to ExplorNapo Camp is approximately 1 1/2 hours.
ExplorTambos
ExplorTambos are located deep in the virgin rainforest area of the Napo River, a two hour hike from ExplorNapo. A stay at the Tambos is for the more adventurous traveler as meals are cooked over an open-hearth, bathing is done native style in a stream flowing through the camp grounds and you sleep on raised platforms under thached roof covers. Due to the camp's isolation, the possibilities for spotting wildlife are much better that from any other lodge in this part of the Amazon. Our guides have observed many different species of primates - red titi monkeys, tamarins, squirrel monkeys, monk sakis, pygmy marmosets and howler monkeys. They have also confirmed the presence of puma, ocelot, tayra, arboreal anteater and other mammals
